With postgraduate degrees in Marketing Management, Fashion Design, and Sociology, Anshul’s journey from a brand manager to a popular influencer on her page, amazemelife, is truly inspiring.
She shares insights into her career, the challenges she faced, and the strategies that keep her grounded and authentic in the dynamic world of social media.
We’re excited to get to know about you! Could you share some insights into your background and journey as a social media influencer?
Branding and promotions have been part of my career from the early days. I started working as a brand manager for fashion shows and startups in Delhi and Mumbai at the age of 22. My journey as a social media influencer began during COVID when I had to shut down my clothing label due to the circumstances.
Can you share a pivotal moment in your journey that significantly shaped your career as a social media influencer?
There wasn’t a single defining moment, but the best part was that I started getting paid for brand promotions just two months after I started. I have worked with prestigious brands and people, and I am still building up to where I want to reach as an influencer.
How do you balance your personal life with the demands of being a prominent influencer? What keeps you grounded?
The key to balance is to stay natural all the time. I am who I am; I don’t manipulate or show a side that doesn’t exist. Everyone who knows me knows that I am grounded.
What strategies do you employ to maintain authenticity and engage your audience amidst the ever-evolving social media landscape?
My strategy is understanding the brand’s needs and delivering to the best of my abilities so that brands can present their most authentic selves to their audience. To keep it engaging for my audience, I use interesting concepts, share real-life stories, visit places and events they may like, and put up open questionnaires to interact and connect with them.
Could you elaborate on some memorable collaborations or campaigns you’ve undertaken with prominent brands in India?
Every collaboration has a memory, but I especially loved working with Prada, Amazon, Kurkure, Myntra, Garnier India, Organic India, Nykd by Nykaa (in the early days), Gatorade, Beauty by Bie and the list goes on.
What is your process for creating content for your blog and social media? Do you have a specific routine or creative process that you follow?
The process starts with brainstorming, then idea creation, followed by execution around the script while keeping it fun yet informative. I haven’t started putting up a lot of random content yet, but I plan to do that more often soon.
How do you believe social media platforms can be leveraged to foster meaningful connections between individuals and brands?
I strongly believe that social media platforms can be leveraged to foster meaningful connections between individuals and brands. In today’s time, we all want to stay connected with everything online, with one click and in a short span of time. As a marketer, I see only developments in this field and no setbacks.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in the social media industry, and how have you overcome them?
The first challenge was to put myself out there for people to form their own judgments. When you are out and about, everyone will have their opinions. As an individual, doing it all alone—from coordinating shoots to traveling, pitching brands, and delivering on time—was challenging, yet I enjoy it. As a woman, I faced no significant challenges.
Can you highlight any specific travel destinations or fashion trends that have resonated particularly well with your audience?
My audience connects more with my travel content, especially when I am travelling in the mountains. My fashion trends are easy to carry yet stylish, so followers can see how to look chic, stylish, and playful all the time.
In what ways do you aim to inspire and empower your followers through your content on amazemelife?
I aim to inspire people to believe in themselves and never give up. I truly want to inspire girls to follow their dreams. I also run social work campaigns to promote kindness in our society.
What advice would you give to aspiring social media influencers, particularly women looking to make their mark in the field?
My advice is to be yourself. Never be pretentious and bring out your best qualities over time. Post regularly and avoid cringe content, as it won’t take you far. Build connections because this is all about networking. Don’t give up—trust me, it’s possible.
How do you envision the future of influencer marketing, especially considering the increasing saturation of social media platforms?
This was a brand new concept, and initially, no one took it seriously. As with any new idea, it faced judgments and discussions. However, social media marketing is the future of marketing. It has already taken over the world. We don’t read newspapers or watch TV much now; we check everything on social media platforms like Instagram. Platforms may evolve, but this industry is now well-rooted and will only develop further.
Are there any upcoming projects or collaborations that you’re excited about and can share with us?
Yes, many exciting things are coming up. I’ll keep it a secret for now. (Wink)
Lastly, how do you define success in your role as a social media influencer, and what goals do you aspire to achieve in the future?
I believe I am successfully delivering what brands need to the right audience, and I am quite happy about that. However, I have only achieved about 40% of what I aim to deliver, so in the future, I aspire to reach 100%.
